As an Achronix Field Applications Engineer will be responsible for FPGA field technical support and technical sales in North America to be determined by management. Achronix target customers use FPGAs in telecommunication, data center networking, AI/ML, automotive, test-and-measurement, and other high-performance edge computing applications. This role involves understanding system level requirements from customers, crafting complex technical and business proposals, and communicating the solution effectively with customers. The FAE will work to remove technical barriers, close sales opportunities, and ultimately drive Achronix business among broad set of target accounts. This person must have expertise in FPGA technology, high-speed SerDes, I/O protocols, 10/25/40/100/400 Gigabit Ethernet, PCI Express, GDDR6/DDR4/5 memory interfaces, and leveraging FPGA development kits for demonstration purposes and debug.
Primary Job Responsibilities
Scope of responsibility will be designing the company’s products through:
- Maintaining effective working relationships with customers, key internal engineering, field sales, and marketing contacts as well as external distribution sales partners.
- Working directly with customers on their designs to improve the implementation in Achronix solutions and quality of proposed solutions
- Providing pre-sales technical leadership and post-sales first-level applications support through calls, e-mails and on-site visits for new and existing customers in North America.
- Presenting Achronix product overviews and roadmap to prospective customers.
- Training sales personnel and other FAEs as required.
- Generating new product proposals and defining new product specification requirements.
- Assisting in the creation of application and design documentation.
- Traveling 25%-50%, depends on customer geography.
Secondary Job Responsibilities
The secondary responsibilities for this position are:
- Providing feedback to Corporate Marketing for supporting new product development and product introductions.
- Attending trade shows and conferences to build the Achronix network.
- Assisting the outbound marketing team to ensure Achronix products stay in the spotlight.
- Working closely with systems and applications engineering teams to create technical slide decks that showcase Achronix-based use-cases and customize them as needed for different customer engagements.
- Generating reference/demo designs leveraging Achronix FPGA technology.
- Creating technical collateral and application notes to highlight and document Achronix FPGA technology and ACE Tool Suite.
Required Skills

- Basic knowledge for navigating Linux-based systems.
- Knowledge of back-end (ASIC) implementation methodology, concepts and tools.
- Familiarity with ASIC IP deliverables including, but not limited to, GDSII, LEF, and lib files.
- Knowledge of SoC architecture and expertise in commonly used SerDes and memory interface protocol IP such as PCIe, Ethernet and external DRAM or HBM.
- Understanding of hardware acceleration for wireless, data center, compute and AI applications.
- Strong logic design and verification background with experience in STA.
- Strong RTL language proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog and/or VHDL.
- High-level synthesis knowledge, work with embedded processors such as RISC-V or ARM.
- Experience in delivering training and webinars preferred.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in EE, CE, ECE or equivalent work experience.
- Recent and extensive (at least three years) hands-on FPGA/ASIC design experience, including development with Verilog/VHDL and common FPGA/ASIC software tools.
- 2-10 years’ experience working in applications, system-level, or architect role for FPGA, IP, ASIC and/or SoC solutions.
